Chinese, 20th century, porcelain with crackle glaze, printed decoration filled with color by hand, Emperor seated in a throne like chair, wearing a cap and elaborate lavender and beige robe, with six character iron red stamp in upper right corner, 11-3/8 x 8-3/8 in., rosewood and black lacquer wood frame, plaque cracked from right edge across center, black lacquer is flaking; similar plaque depicting an Empress seated in a throne chair and wearing an elaborate robe and lavender crown, iron-red six-character seal in upper left corner, framed en suite, 11-3/8 x 8-3/8 in., minor surface wear to frame .
