J&W Cary celestial globe dated 1818, G&J terrestrial globe with date obscured but consistent with circa 1833 models, mahogany stands on casters with original horizon rings and paper dial compasses to bases, cartouche to celestial globe reads "CARY'S NEW CELESTIAL GLOBE OF WHICH are carefully laid down the whole of the STARS AND NEBULAE contained in the Catalogs of Wollaston, Herschel, Bode, Piazzi, Zach & C., calculated to the Year 1820 / Made and Sold by J&W Cary / No. 181 Strand London 1818". terrestrial globe cartouche reads "CARY'S NEW TERRESTRIAL GLOBE Drawn from the most recent "GEOGRAPHICAL WORKS showing the whole of new Discoveries with the TRACKS of the PRINCIPAL NAVIGATORS and every improvement in Geography to the present time / LONDON / London Published by G&J Cary, St. James St., Jan 7, 18XX(?)", bases 30-3/4 x 20-3/4 x 20-3/4 in., globes 15 in. diameter not including metal rings

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
