Walnut Side Chairs
Boston area, mid 18th century, each with arched crest over solid splat, petit-point upholstered slip seats with floral decoration and dated 1946, cabriole legs with pad feet and block-and-turned stretchers, 40 x 22 x 21 in., one chair with break and repair at one front toe and patch and repair at the other and repinning at crest rail, the other with reshaping to one rear foot, some cracks and repairs at joint of crest rail to splat and some infill at rear rail and shoe (with some repinning), other surface wear and abrasions consistent with age and use.
