Japanese, 19th century, baluster-form vases with flared and ruffled rims, each polychrome painted with two panels depicting courtship with small landscape panels above, on a ground of brightly colored peonies, floral band inside rim, small signature on one panel on each, 21-3/4 in.,. Condition: black enamel on one vase is extensively flaked, otherwise only minor enamel flaking observed on the pair.
