London, 1731, round body with fluted and scalloped rim, later coat of arms, marks for Paul de Lamerie, Britannia standard, .958 fine, 25.14 oz. T., 1-1/4 x 7-1/4 in.

Note: The arms of Walpole impaling for Sire Robert Walpole (1676-1745), Britain's first Prime Minister, and his first wife, Catherine Shorter, whom he married in 1700.

In the Cholmondeley archive at Cambridge University, an account book lists a bill paid by Robert Walpole to David Willaume on August 5th, 1716 (GBP 123 18s)

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received.
