American or English, early 19th century, hinged canted top with oval brass handle, lid and lower portion with fine kingswood and satinwood inlay, brass escutcheon, interior with inlaid star in oval, multiple knife cutouts, rolled molded base, fine matching burl veneers, 14-1/8 in..
