Pearl Inset Carved Hardwood Armchairs late 19th century, each centering a circular finely enameled porcelain plaque, one depicting water birds, lilies and insects surrounded by mother-of-pearl inlaid auspicious symbols, the other with two birds perched on prunus branch, caved frames with stylized bats, underside of seats with partial paper labels, 39-3/4 x 27 x 20-1/2 in., good condition overall, scattered minor losses to mother-of-pearl inlay, some finish wear and some slight color variation, porcelain panels in excellent condition, small hole in legs above front stretchers (possibly once fitted with a rod), minor separations at some joints, caps for panels held in place with later washers and screws. Condition

good condition overall, scattered minor losses to mother-of-pearl inlay, some finish wear and some slight color variation, porcelain panels in excellent condition, small hole in legs above front stretchers (possibly once fitted with a rod), minor separations at some joints, caps for panels held in place with later washers and screws

Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser’s risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
