Pearl Inset Carved Hardwood Armchairs
late 19th century, each centering a circular finely enameled porcelain plaque with songbirds on prunus branches, surrounded by mother-of-pearl auspicious symbols, 39-3/4 x 27 x 20-1/2 in., good condition overall, scattered minor losses to mother-of-pearl inlay, some finish wear and some slight color variation, porcelain panels in excellent condition, small hole in legs above front stretchers (possibly once fitted with a rod), minor separations at some joints, caps for panels held in place with later washers and screws, one with cracks to arm near front support, one with some later pinning at attachment of seat panel to frame.
