Decorated Tole Chestnut Urns with a Pair Bronze Putti Plaques
English, 20th century, tole urns with acorn finials on oval pewter covers, tin bodies elaborately decorated with bird on a branch, two lion mask ring handles, oval bases, 12-1/2 in., wear to base of both with minor gilt and enamel losses, one foot possibly repaired, the other slightly bent; with a pair of identical rectangular brass-mounted plaques, each depicting putti in a landscape forging a shield or heart, possibly furniture mounts, 1-7/8 x 6 in., mounted on beige silk in gilt wood frames, some discoloration on both, one with corrosion lower right corner, old polish residue in low-relief areas .
