probably Newport or Providence, Rhode Island, 1800-1810, each with D shaped mahogany top over a figured skirt with central oval panel with lightwood surround, on tapered square legs, white pine and chestnut secondary, 28-3/4 x 26 x 17-1/2 in., opens to 35 in. - Provenance: By descent in the Cole family, possibly from George Washington Cole (Newport,1782-1860) a member of the Rhode Island Society of the Cincinnati; LeCompte Estate, Lynchburg, Virginia
