attributed to James Gheen (Rowan County, North Carolina, 1740-1796), late 18th century, five dovetailed drawers with yellow pine secondary flanked by molded chamfered corners on original ogee bracket feet and blocking (single-board heavy blocking from front to back), 43-3/4 x 34-1/2 x 16-1/2 in., good condition overall, bottom drawer with replaced bottom and 1 in. strip patch at bottom of facing, brasses replaced (no plugged holes), several foot facings pieced approximately 1-1/2 in., lacking locks.
