attributed to James Gheen, Rowan county, 1800-1820, walnut throughout with heavy yellow pine secondary, dovetailed drawers and bracket feet, with distinctive blocking in the style of James Gheen, 42-1/2 x 41-1/4 x 20-1/2 in.
good structural condition, shrinkage cracks and warping to case sides, original feet and blocking with some later risers for blocking and later cross braces at back, typical edge wear to foot facings, (case underside with old white painted surface), brasses replaced (no plugged holes)
