(Washington, born 1940) Victoria, 1976, edition 3/6, signed "Taylor Aug '76" and inscribed with title at bottom, polished and patinated bronze with walnut pedestal, 62-3/4 x 16-3/4 in. oil residue, abrasions to mirror finish and to base. Notes: Victoria was the daughter of Canute Hamsom, Norwegian author. This sculpture was created for King Olaf V of Norway as a gift to the host agency on his official visit to Seattle, Washington. Taylor is best known for his sculpture "Kvinneaki" in Portland, Oregon.. Provenance: Private Birmingham, Alabama Collection
