Rare print, Conclusion De La Campagne Libert‚ De 1781 En Virginie/Le Marquis De La Fayette, 1783, Noe?l Le Mire, engraver, sheet 18-3/8 x 12- 7/8 in.; black painted frame, 21 x 15-1/4 in.

Note: Lafayette with the Battle of Yorktown to his left, his horse and his attendant James Armistead at his proper left side. Armistead was a slave who volunteered to serve with Lafayette and eventually became a spy for the Revolutionary cause. In light of these contributions, Lafayette actively supported James winning his freedom from the Virginia General Assembly in 1787.
