Offering items from two family collections acquired in China in the early 1900s. One from Dr. Stanley Burns, who worked in China to provide much-needed medical care to the local population. The other group from L. Nelson and Virginia Bell, who were missionaries in China from 1916 to 1941. Other Chinese and Japanese items from private collections include Qing Dynasty enamel porcelains, bronze and porcelain water droppers, a fine selection of snuff bottles, along with a group of jade figures, bronze Buddhas, furniture, and jewelry.

comprising: small compote with enamel foliate border centering around floral spray with insect, exterior decorated with bats, base with wave pattern, 2-1/8 x 3-7/8 x 3-7/8 in.; square compote with enamel floral border centering around floral scene with bird, exterior with foliate scrollwork, base with wave design, faded rubber stamp in interior of base, 1-3/4 x 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 in.; two similar saucers, red and white underglaze, with buddha's hand, peaches, pomegranates, bats, and gilt character, exterior with bats, gilt rim, rubber stamps, one possibly reading "Tongzhi Nian Zhi" (Tongzhi (1862-74) Period Make), and Guangdong Cultural Relics Bureau #1 wax seals on base, 7-8 x 3 x 3 in., 1 x 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 in.; pair of saucers with enamel floral scene with peony, six character Da Qing Guangxu reign mark on bases, 1 x 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 in.; pair of saucers, blue and white underglaze, polychrome enamel scrollwork throughout, blue banding on exterior, 1-1/8 x 3-3/8 x 3-3/8 in.; famille verte teacup with floral scrollwork on exterior, rubber stamp on base, Guangdong Cultural Relics Bureau #1 wax seal on interior, 2-3/8 x 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 in.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
