probably Rhode Island, mid 18th century, figured single-board mahogany top, frame with turned legs and pad feet, dense mahogany throughout, underside of top with early painted inscription "JC?", 25-3/4 x 34-1/2 x 23-3/4 in.; Provenance: Private New England Collection
refinished, top appears to be original (reset and with later blocking, not removed for examination), minor cracks to top and other small areas of infill, secondary surfaces with traces of paint
