Mahogany Dressing Table
possibly Benjamin Frothingham, Charlestown, Massachusetts, 1760-1780, dense figured mahogany throughout, dovetailed drawers set with batwing brasses, top drawer set with dividers, central shell-carved drawer, cabriole legs and pad feet, 30 x 36-1/2 x 21-1/2 in., drawer supports replaced, lacking drops at skirt, some knee returns replaced (three off but present), probably original brasses (posts driven through and not removed for examination), formerly fitted with casters, one foot with break and repair, scattered patches and one corner loss at drawer lips, top set with modern steel clips (not removed), scattered stains and sun fading especially to top.
