Serpentine Desk
Massachusetts, circa 1801, fitted and inlaid desk interior, white pine secondary throughout, probably original brass pulls, original ogee bracket feet, 45 x 44 x 23 in. refinished with some sun fading and color variation, otherwise excellent condition with fallboard escutcheon replaced, original feet and blocking with some minor breaks and repairs to facings. Provenance: One interiort drawer inscribed "Thaddeus Stanford his draw 1801. Hannah"; Property of the Croy Family, "Sandhurst", Aiken, South Carolina
