Serpentine Chest-on-Chest
Connecticut or Massachusetts, late 18th century, mahogany and cherry with white pine secondary, dentil-molded cornice, bonnet top set with central fan carving and urn-and-flame finials, skirt set with original boldly carved central fan drop, original brass batwing pulls and escutcheons, original untouched tall ogee bracket feet and glue blocks, 93 x 44 x 20 in., very good condition overall, flame elements with later gilding and are possible restorations (urns appear to be original), probably original brasses, other scattered minor patches, slight shrinkage cracks to case sides, very minor areas of color retouch.
