Italian, probably 19th century, carved gilt wood cartouche form frames with pierced scroll work and leaf and shell devices, set with distressed silvered mirror panels, largest 38-3/4 in., Provenance: Private Collection, Charleston, South Carolina scattered breaks and repairs to carved elements, both mirrors with areas of later bracing and supports verso, gilding wear and losses with scattered areas of retouch, likely original mirror panels with silvering distress, mirror panels slightly loose, linen backing verso, surface dirt layer, other typical surface wear and abrasions consistent with age and use
