18th/19th century, each dovetailed box with dark old surface set with a pierced iron lock and hasp, interiors papered throughout with calligraphic inscriptions, set on modern polished steel stands, each box 12-1/2 x 21-3/4 x 10-1/4 in. (boxes are the same size, bases are different), height including larger stand, 25-3/4 in. excellent condition overall with early dark surface, typical surface wear and abrasions, modern stands with some light corrosion and spotting, one lid with possible repair at lock attachment, note size variation
