Vessel possibly Casas Grandes, Mexico/New Mexico, or Maricopa, Arizona, late 19th/early 20th century, coil made and burnished red pottery rising sharply outward from rounded bottom and then in again to narrow opening with slightly everted rim, two large areas of polished black having matte black patterns within, no marks, 6-1/2 in.,
