Chinese, 18th century, cobalt blue decoration with flowering shrubs and birds, scalloped edge rim, oval base with geometric pattern, 4 x 9-1/4 x 4 in.
Notes: In 1752, the Dutch ship, Geldermalsen, sank in the South China Sea, having been laden with Chinese export porcelain.  This shipwrecked hoard was discovered in the early 1980s, and was famously auctioned by Christie's in Amsterdam as the Nanking Cargo. Â
