Admiral Edward Vernon, 1740, John Faber, printer and publisher, sold by Faber at the Golden Head in Bloomsbury Square, inscribed in lower margin "The Hon.ble Edward Vernon Esq.r Vice-Admiral of the Blue, And Comander [sic] in Chief of all His Majestie's [sic] Ships in the West-Indies...", sight 13-7/8 x 9-7/8 in.; period style frame, 18-1/2 x 14-1/2 x 1 in.; [Edward Vernon], Original letters to an Honest Sailor, London: R. Thomas, 1746, quarter leather over marbled paper boards, gilt particulars to spine, laid paper, duodecimo, 7-3/4 x 4-7/8 in.; Vernon medal, 1739 Admiral Vernon, Porto Bello Taken with Portrait and Icons Bronze Medal

Condition

mezzotint not examined out of frame, waviness to paper, staining, handling grime, creasing, light foxing, some abrasions to image and printing anomalies; frame with wear and abrasions; book with losses to leather throughout, splitting to hinges, loss to head and tail of spine, some losses to paper along edges, previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown taped repair to bottom fore edge corner of front free fly, gutters cracked, some foxing throughout, mostly to first and last several pages, text block is otherwise clean and tight, a serviceable copy of a hard to find title; medal with even brown coloration with light surface oxidation; medal frame with light wear Note - Brunk Auctions makes every effort to offer accurate and thorough information, but encourages prospective bidders to inspect items in person whenever possible. Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
