late 19th century, interior paper label for Louis Vuitton, serial number partly obscured, hinged lid with quilted interior and removable tray, exterior with damier checkerboard design with "Marque L. Vuitton Deposé", travel labels and McAlpin stenciled monogram, 15-1/2 x 24 x 10-1/2 in., strap handle at top loose but present (supports for handle are broken), some scattered edge wear and dry rot to exterior leather mounts, various shipping labels, interior with light stains and wear, some losses to label.
