North Shore, Massachusetts, circa 1760, fine diminutive form with original brass and outstanding surface with molded top and dovetail drawers, bold batwing brasses, fan carved central drawer, scalloped skirt with cabriole legs and pad feet, 30 x 28 case x 18 in., top width 34 in.

 

Provenance: ex collection Duane Merrill, Williston, Vermont; purchased by Nathan Edgar Merrill, father of Duane Merrill from a family in Wolcott, Vermont, in 1953; by descent in the Merrill family

Note: This fine dressing table is distinguished by its exceptional form with narrow waist and dramatic overhang and deeply scalloped skirt. In addition, it survives in outstanding original condition with original brasses and an early surface.
