Ewer" with Gilt-Bronze Mounts English, circa 1820, oviform with lustred handles modeled as Bacchus seated on a cornucopia and a triton with mask terminals, painted and gilt with mons between panels of birds and flowers on cobalt ground, later gilt-metal footed base, 26-3/4 in., foot pierced and adapted for electricity with some restoration, wear to lustre and gilding. Provenance: Valerie Howard, London; Tennessee Private Collection; Note: Valerie Howard was a prominent dealer of Mason's in London.  After her death, Christie's sold the remaining stock of her shop.
