comprising: "Lettres Illustrees de Edouard Manet", 1929, 283/300, 22 facsimile reproductions of letters decorated with watercolor drawings, stamped "Marguerite H. Loeb" to interior front leather, designed and executed by Marguerite Loeb (m. McBey) while in school in Paris and prior to her marriage to James McBey; 25 hand painted bookbinding designs; a collection of pencil drawings on vellum and tissue paper; newspaper and magazine articles on bookbinding, some featuring the artist; 16 photographs of bound books (some duplicates); vellum hand stitched portfolio (11-1/2 x 9 in.); Julius Komjati (Hungary, 1894-1958), Man with Pipe, 1934, signed lower right "Julius Komjati", further signed "To Mrs. James McBey with... from J. Komjati", etching, plate 9 x 8 in.; New Year's card from The Spiral Press, New York, 1927 with offset lithograph by Ernest Fiene (American, 1894-1965), 11-1/4 x 9 in.

collection with wear consistent with age and use; paper with wear to edges, scattered small tears and stains throughout, some folded, expected handling wear; book with wear to leather binding primarily at spine, text block loose to binding; Komjati with foxing, tear to top of sheet; Fiene with foxing, toning to edge

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
