(British, 1763-1804) Two rural scenes: Shepherdesses with a Flute player and Woman and Child with Playful Dog, possibly 18th century or early 19th century, unsigned, watercolor on paper, hand-painted silk 'mat', 7-1/4 x 6-3/8 in. (watercolor), 17-7/8 x 13-7/8 in. (oval strainer); gilt wood and composition frames and spandrels,. Condition: watercolor and silk mat applied to stretched canvas, with some lifting, silk with deterioration and stains, watercolor with some fading and flaking; frames with abrasions, losses and some resurfacing, one piece of glass with loss at break.
