British, second quarter 19th century, hinged cover over open interior, flanked by brass bail pulls, straight molded base, original lock and key, 9 x 17 x 10-1/2 in., old restoration to panel inset in top, once fitted with six-compartment interior (missing compartment partitions), replaced hinges, minor wear to molding at right front corner, scratches and surface losses.
