(Santa Clara Pueblo, born 1916) or her granddaughter of the same name (active beginning 1991), low bowl circled by deeply carved figure of Avonyu (water snake), signed in script on bottom "Madeline Naranjo/Santa Clara Pueblo", 2-3/4 x 7 in.,. Notes: The older Naranjo won many awards for her blackware pottery, including Santa Fe Indian Market, New Mexico State Fair, and the prestigious Governor‘s Award. The younger Naranjo has also won awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market.
