(New York/France, 1898-1962) The Tack Room, signed lower center "Bemelmans", gouache and ink on Whatman Board, 29-1/4 x 22 in.; white-painted frame,. Condition: abrasions with a crease to lower right corner with some pigment loss. Notes: Ludwig Bemelmans was the beloved creator of [Madeline], who made her debut in 1939 in the first of seven books.
