French, late 19th century, shaped top with ratcheted leather lined writing surface, flanked by two lidded compartments, each set with oval marquetry reserves, the finely inlaid skirt with landscape and village scenes, central dovetailed drawer, shaped cabriole legs with bronze feet, 27-1/2 x 27-1/2 x 14-1/2 in. - Provenance: Lineberger Estate, Duke Mansion, Charlotte, North Carolina; by descent in family

Condition

very good condition overall, some very minor veneer chips, other typical cracks and surface distress, modern leather writing surface with some minor warping, minor distress at release for ratcheted lid
Purchased items not picked up within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges.
