French, probably 18th century, carved and giltwood frame with ribbon crest, tapered fluted legs with turned feet, silk upholstery with loose down cushion and two bolsters, 38 x 31 x 24 in.
one foot ended out, one with pest damage at bottom, repair at one rear foot, other cracks at leg attachments, formerly fitted with central seat frame brace (now removed, later blocking for legs), bumps and wear to gilding overall with some scattered paint retouch, other typical separations and infill at joints, upholstery with fading and wear, tear at seat cushion
