French, 18th century, carved and white painted frame, stop fluted curved supports, half rail upholstered seats seat with striped silk upholstery, the rear rail with branded cipher "AB" and early label reading˜"Pour Monseigneur le duc de Penthievre a Nogent Chambre a Coucher" (the grandson of Louis XVI), 34-1/2 in.Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, Inc. to benefit the collections and acquisitions funds.
