begun and held at the City of Raleigh, on the Second Day of November, in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety-five, Edenton: Hodge and Wills, [1796], 31, [1] pages, folio, this volume provides the laws passed by the state assembly in 1795-1796, including several laws emancipating slaves, a law entitled "[An Act] To emancipate Frank, a person of color," with an ownership inscription of Samuel Willis of Beaufort, County, who sat in the state assembly during the American Revolution, in 1780, evenly toned, scattered foxing otherwise very good; bound into three-quarter leather over marbled boards, morocco spine label with gilt-titling, as new; with receipt from William Reese Company
