printed cartouche inscribed "Newton's Celestial Globe on which all the Stars, Nebulae, and Clusters contained in the extensive catalogue of the late F. Wollaston, F.R.S., accurately laid down...having been recalculated in the year 1830 by W. Newton, Newton & Son, 66 Chancery Lane, London", with brass mounts and set on mahogany tripod stand with baluster turned support and brass casters, 42 x 24 in. (globe approximately 18 in.)

globe generally good with scattered restorations including only minor warping to segments, generally even crackle, very minor cracks and areas of wear at top, one area of overspray/repair, other typical distress and rubbing, chapter ring with more extensive damage, losses, and repairs (see detailed photos); stand in good condition overall, minor cracks at standard with probable plugged screws at top of legs, lacking lower stretchers, otherwise typically good with minor cracks and wear
