Possibly French, late 18th century, octagonal to tapered round 7-3/4 in. barrel, "Memmeringhausen" inscribed on lock plate, walnut full stock, ornate silver plate trigger guard with outlined carving, silver plate furnitue and side plates, ornate butt plate depicting face of lion with carved outline, wreath carving at top of handle, three fleur de lis and windrose hallmarks at top of barrel, 13 in. overall; Provenance: Private New England Collection
