Japanese, Edo period, extremely heavy-gauge bell with detailed calligraphy inscription indicating it was a gift from a [samurai] family to a shrine in either 1826 or 1846 for a temple in Okuma, good old surface, 23 x 12 in.. Condition: multiple old bronze patches to side where rung.
