(Japanese, 1921-2004) six-sided lidded glass box in mottled bright emerald green with silver leaf and gilt highlights, faintly signed on base, 5-1/4 x 7-1/8 x 7-1/8 in., excellent condition. Notes: Among his many honors, Kyohei Fujita was conferred to the "Order of the Sacred Treasure" in Japan. The consignor was for ten years a member of the Penland School of Crafts Board, Spruce Pine, NC, and had the opportunity to know many of the glass artists there and watch the creative process. Over numerous years, this consignor took a deep interest in traveling, meeting top artists, some in their studios and homes, others in gallery shows and began collecting important Art Glass in various venues within the U.S.A. and abroad..
