probably Marblehead, Massachusetts, 1750-1760, handwritten label affixed to the underside of the bonnet reads "Sarah Kittredge Hunt Was Morton's years ago, now his mother", 88 x 40 x 22 in.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.

Christie's 2013 condition report for this high chest notes "Finials and brasses appear to be original. Wafers and side finials plinths possibly of a later date. Returns on swans neck cornice probably replaced. Knot hole filled on left side of case. Crack and repair to back edge of left side of case. Crack and repair to back edge of right side of case. Patch to drawer lip on upper right short drawer. Some losses to drawer lips at corners. Some pitting to surface of one brass on third long drawer from top. Shrinkage crack to lower most drawer in upper section. The lower section： with some losses and minor patches to drawer lips. Some triangular patches to upper corners on right short drawer. Knob on fan drawer replaced. Crack and repair to right side of apron near front leg. Possible surface patches to lobes on central portion of apron. Shims added to runners on left short drawer. Bruising and abrasions to legs and feet." We note this appears to be in generally very good condition, with period brasses, though one short drawer has witness marks of a previous brass； one finial possibly original, the other two have a muddy brown color under blacklight and are likely later and/or repaired, proper right case side with separation； repairs at skirt below fan carved drawer Note - Brunk Auctions makes every effort to offer accurate and thorough information, but encourages prospective bidders to inspect items in person whenever possible.
