(Japanese 1753–1806)Uwaki no So (The Fickle Type), from the series Fujin Sogaku Jittai (Ten Physiognomies of Women); Popen o Fuku Musume (Young Woman Playing a Popen Glass), from the series Fujo Ninso Juppin (Ten Classes of Women's Physiognomy), signed "somi Utamaro ga" and "somi Utamaro koga", Tsutaya publisher's seal, woodblock prints with mica ground, oban tate-e, each sight 14-1/4 x 9-3/4 in., one with gilt storage folder; Mono-omoi Koi (Reflective Love), from the series Kasen koi no bu (Anthology of Poems: The Love Section), signed "Utamaro hitsu" lower left, Tsutaya publisher's seal, woodblock print with light mica ground, probably a 20th century reprinting, oban tate-e, 14-3/4 x 10-1/4 in.; modern frames, largest 22-1/2 x 17 in. - Provenance: Lifetime Collection of a Kentucky Lady
not examined out of frames, some scattered light losses to mica, some vertical creasing throughout; Uwaki no So with small stain left of woman's nose; frames with minor wear and abrasions; folder possibly associated; Mono-omoi Koi hinged in, some adhesive residue at edges (probably from former reinforcement), some minor printing creases especially at lower edges, good color
Condition
Purchased items not picked up in Richmond by noon on Sunday will then be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
