10th President of the U. S. (1841-1845) Two items: a partially-printed document dated June 29, 1841 and signed by President Tyler, authorizing the Secretary of State (Daniel Webster) to affix the Seal of the United States to "the remission of the forfeiture and certain pecuniary penalties incurred by Capt. Pierce…", a double-fold sheet printed on one side, with contemporary descriptive note on verso, 9-3/4 x 8 in. (one side), fold wear and age toning otherwise very good condition; hand-written letter dated December 30, 1842 and signed by Tyler to J. C. Stickney regarding a possible appointment to the Navy, a folded sheet written on one side measuring: 10-1/8 x 8 in., lightly age-toned and minor wear at the extremities otherwise very good condition; Provenance: R. Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
