Note: John Flanagan was considered the foremost American medalist sculptor by his teacher and collaborator Frederick MacMonnies. While a student in Paris, he assisted MacMonnies in the creation of the Columbian Fountain for the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. The present portrays Helen De Melo MacMonnies of Westfield, New Jersey who attended Cornell University circa 1913-1915.
