four painted pottery figures: seated black boy whistling and reading a book, impressed "JM II 6483", 10-1/14 in., [surface wear;] bust-form figural tobacco jar depicting a man in straw hat and holding a watermelon, removable cover, impressed "JM 3373", [likely missing cover to watermelon, extensive surface losses to color verso;] two seated dandies with top hats, impressed "JM [star] 6797" and "6793", each approximately 5-1/2 in., [both with some color loss to tips of toes;] with painted glazed ceramic figure of a black banjo player, pedestal base, impressed "5407", [good condition,] (five pieces).
