British, late 19th/20th century, near pair of urn form garnitures mounted on square plinths, center friezes hand painted with continuous landscapes and castle ruins, adorned throughout with raised enamel "jewels" and intricate raised gilt decoration on ivory white ground, shoulders flanked by gilt mask form handles, lid interiors and bases marked with green Coalport crown mark, base interiors with retailer mark "Theodore B. Starr / New York" and numbered "B1718" and "B1549" respectively, each 8-1/2 in., Provenance: Private Collection, Richmond, Virginia
some gilt irregularity and possible gilt retouch to rims, some minor scratches and losses to gilt and enamel decoration, few small hairlines, crazing, wear to bases and lid rims, some residue to lids, other minor surface wear consistent with age and use
Condition
Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser’s risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
Items purchased from our Asheville auction facility not picked up within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item.
