(French, 1796-1875) [Deux vaches et leur gardien au marécage boisé], circa 1865-1870, signed lower left "Corot", oil on canvas with colourman stamp for "DEFORGE CARPENTIER S...PARIS", 12-1/8 x 17-1/2 in.; gilt wood and composition frame, original stretcher and tacking edge, stretcher marks, crackle. Notes: The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Martin Dieterle and Claire Lebeau and will be included in the forthcoming Sixth Supplement to A. Robaut's Catalogue Raisonné of Corot's works (lot accompanied by photo certificate). It was noted that this painting is "a very nice and creative example of Corot's works of the 1865-70 period" (lot accompanied by photo certificate)..
