 probably 19th century, large six panel screen depicting the pair seated beneath a flowering plum, Yoshitsune in full armor, holding a fan, the warrior priest Benkei kneeling before him on a leopard skin mat, about to inscribe a poem on a wooden signboard, while a third warrior looks on from the right, signed with seal on far right panel, ink and color on paper, each panel 66 x 23 in.; overall width 11 ft. x 5 in. - Provenance: Bonhams, New York, March 19, 2009, Estate of Liza Hyde, Lot 198, (lot accompanied by copy of invoice for $1,220); Private Collection, Charleston, South Carolina
