Note: From the artist's website:Jan Rithamer (1944-1995) was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and moved to New York City in 1963. Jan developed his skills on his own (he is not known to have attended formal art school) and taught art in private schools in the 1970s. Jan worked as a commission artist for the design firm of Valerian Rybar and Jean-Fran‡ois Daigre between 1980 and 1990, doing several paintings and murals for private and commercial clients. Jan took part in a group exhibit at the renowned Grand Central Art Galleries in 1989.
