(Massachusetts/England, 1834-1903)Drouet, Scuplteur (K. 55), 1859, state III/III, signed in plate "Whistler 1859", etching on buff laid paper with older Arches watermark, plate 8-7/8 x 6 in. sheet 14-1/4 x 9-1/2 in.; modern frame, 19-1/4 x 13-3/4 in.Note: This plate was cancelled by Whistler in 1879. At some point later the light cancellation marks were erased and the lines redrawn. This is a good early impression after the cancellation. - Provenance: A Washington, D. C. Collection
